Sloan Kettering Institute Researchers Named 2021 Kravis Women in Science Endeavor Fellowship Grant Recipients
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) announced that Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) researchers Regina Bou Puerto and Mijin Kim, PhD, have been named 2021 Marie-Josée Kravis Women in Science Endeavor (Kravis WiSE) fellowship grant recipients. The Kravis WiSE initiative, created in 2020, provides sustained funding for scientific trainees as well as mentoring and significant professional development for women pursuing careers in biomedical research at MSK. The Kravis WiSE Symposium is held every year during Women’s History Month in March. This event hosts scientific leaders from MSK and other institutions.

Memorial Sloan Kettering – Hackensack Meridian Health Partnership Announces Funding for Inaugural Immunology Research Collaboration Projects
The Memorial Sloan Kettering – Hackensack Meridian Health Partnership has formed an Immunology Research Collaboration, through which researchers can apply for funding to support innovative investigations to explore the power of the immune system and ways it may be harnessed to fight cancer. Three researchers’ projects were selected in 2020 for funding support.

Two Memorial Sloan Kettering Scientists Elected to Esteemed National Academy of Sciences

Scott Keeney, PhD, a molecular biologist, and Christopher Lima, PhD, a structural biologist, join more than a dozen MSK investigators who are already NAS members. SKI is the research enterprise of MSK, the world’s oldest and largest private cancer center. Members are elected in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. Membership is one of the highest honors bestowed upon scientists worldwide.

A New Era of Care: The David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to Open in January 2020
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) today celebrated the opening of a $1.5 billion state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility with government officials, members of the Boards of Overseers and Managers, and staff. New Study Examines Wilms’ Tumor Relapse and May Give Clues to about Which Other Childhood Cancers Could Relapse
Today, researchers from MSK Kids at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) published results that examine elevated levels of a protein called prohibitin in the urine and tumors of children with Wilms’ tumors. Their findings could help doctors identify children who are at risk for disease recurrence and precisely tailor treatment to overcome drug resistance.
