$50M Perot family gift expands UT Southwestern’s Medical Scientist Training Program

The Perot family, The Perot Foundation, and The Sarah and Ross Perot, Jr. Foundation have provided a transformative $50 million endowment for UT Southwestern’s Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), among the nation’s elite programs that provide graduates a dual M.D./Ph.D. degree to strengthen the advancement of laboratory discoveries into the clinical arena. Funding will provide a permanent endowment for the Perot Family Scholars Medical Scientist Training Program – one of just 54 M.D./Ph.D. training programs in the country supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

FAU Foundation Raises $81.24 Million in Record-setting Year

The Florida Atlantic University Foundation raised more than $81.24 million from more than 5,332 donors at the end of the 2022 fiscal year – the largest amount raised in the University’s history. This total breaks the record of $57 million from the previous year and demonstrates a continued trajectory for growth.

Hackensack Meridian Health Establishes Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation

Hackensack Meridian Health, the largest, most comprehensive and integrated health care network in New Jersey, today announced the formation of Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation. The newly created foundation will serve as the parent organization for the network’s 10 community-based hospital foundations. In addition to raising funds for the network’s local medical centers, Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation will also focus on network-wide priorities such as behavioral health, children’s health, the Hackensack Meridian Center for Discovery & Innovation and the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.

FAU Medicine Ushers in New Research Phase to Prevent Dementia

FAU’s Schmidt College of Medicine and The Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Foundation have joined forces again to usher in a new phase of research to prevent dementia. The extension of a three-year, $3 million grant from the foundation will launch the new FAU Center for Brain Health. The grant supports precision medicine approaches to prevent dementia, which will be further strengthened by leveraging multiple patient-centered platforms through state-of-the-art transdisciplinary approaches.
