Elevidys Gene Therapy: A Neurologist’s Perspective

Over the past year, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has been one of the highest-volume centers in the nation for Elevidys gene therapy. So far, CHLA has treated 10 boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy with this gene transfer therapy—among the most in the U.S.Leading these efforts at CHLA is Leigh Ramos-Platt, MD, Director of the Neuromuscular Disorders Center in the Neurological Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, which includes one of the largest programs in California for Duchenne.

First-Ever Expert Clinical Perspectives Published in Muscle & Nerve

Muscle & Nerve has officially published the first two
manuscripts in the new submission category of Expert Clinical Perspectives. “Diagnosis of
Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy” and “Treatment of Chronic Inflammatory
Demyelinating Polyneuropathy,” were both co-authored by Jeffrey Allen, MD, and Richard
Lewis, MD, and published in the November 2022 journal.

More Than 1,660 People Attend the AANEM 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting

A record-breaking 1,666 people attended the 67th American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) Annual Meeting, which took place from October 7-10, 2020. For the first time, the AANEM Annual Meeting was held virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
