UNC Offering Admission Guarantee for Colorado High School Students

Beginning fall 2023, the University of Northern Colorado is guaranteeing admission to the university for eligible Colorado high school students. UNC’s Colorado First-Year Admission Guarantee is a new initiative designed to provide clarity and confidence for high school guidance counselors, families and prospective students as they explore pathways to a college education.

Alumni-led Production of Rent Gives Current Students A Taste of Broadway

In the early 2000s, two eager University of Northern Colorado Theatre Arts majors had their eyes set on New York’s biggest stage. Taking dance course after dance course and performing in multiple student productions, Jason Veasey and Aléna Watters achieved that dream, using the skills they perfected on campus and eventually showcasing them on Broadway. Now the pair is back, sharing the knowledge they’ve learned with today’s students and taking leading roles behind the scenes in UNC’s production of the popular Broadway musical Rent, that opened on Oct. 21.

UNC Biological Education Doctoral Candidate Awarded $20,000 Award

Karina Sanchez, a Biological Education Ph.D. candidate at the University of Northern Colorado, has been awarded a $20,000 American Dissertation Fellowship award from the American Association of University Women (AAUW), an organization that promotes education and equity for women and girls. Her dissertation involves researching how noise and light pollution and landscape composition in urban settings affects American robins, specifically their bird song.
