RADx Tech Program tackles design of accessible COVID-19 home tests

NIH’s RADx Tech committed resources in early 2022 for increased accessibility of COVID-19 home tests. The RADx Tech Accessibility Program subsequently invited collaboration from advocacy organizations to contribute to design insights and is a first step that will help manufacturers address the gap in accessible test availability.

New wiki on salivary proteins may transform diagnostic testing and personalized medicine

To improve the development of new saliva-based diagnostic tests and personalized medicine, the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) has supported the development of the Human Salivary Proteome Wiki, the first public platform that catalogs and curates data on each of the thousands of proteins within our saliva.

RADx diversifies COVID-19 test portfolio with four new contracts, including one to detect variants

NIH has awarded four additional contracts for the development and scaled-up manufacturing of new COVID-19 diagnostic testing technologies through its Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics Tech (RADx) initiative. The awards total $29.3 million and will help increase testing capacity for COVID-19.

NIH continues to boost national COVID-19 testing capacity

NIH today announced $129.3 million in scale-up and manufacturing support for a new set of COVID-19 testing technologies as part of its RADx initiative. NIH is awarding contracts to nine companies for technologies that include portable point-of-care tests for immediate results and high-throughput laboratories that can return results within 24 hours.
