“I am able.” Asian Congress for People with Special Needs Conference Organized by Chula Faculty of Education and People Go Network Forum

The Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with People Go Network Forum, organized the “I am able” Asian Congress for People with Special Needs Conference from February 22 to 25, 2024, at Umpai Sucharitkul meeting room, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University.

What Has America Learned Since Hurricane Katrina? Not Enough.

Researchers found a lack of preparedness, specifically to evacuate carless and vulnerable populations. Only seven cities had strong plans, including Charlotte, North Carolina; Cleveland; Jacksonville; Miami; New Orleans; New York; and Philadelphia. Twenty cities achieved a moderate rating, six cities had a weak rating and 17 plans were not available or do not exist. Among the cities with plans not found include Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Minneapolis.

Project-based class intended to immerse engineering students in realistic problem-solving situations

Wichita State University students interested in assistive technology and service learning will be able to perform projects through an “Accessible Design” class offered for the first time in spring 2020. This fall, students in a project-based class developed technology to help a nonverbal individual communicate.
