Weighted blankets are available to patients receiving infusions at all Dana-Farber locations as the result of a project led by staff nurse Cheri Hermann, BSN, RN, OCN. The initiative dates to March 2020, when she observed heightened anxiety in patients whose loved ones were unable to accompany them to appointments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dana-Farber researcher awarded Victoria Mock New Investigator Award
Rachel Pozzar, PhD, RN, a nurse scientist in the Phyllis F. Cantor Center for Research in Nursing and Patient Care Services at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School, has been awarded the 2023 Oncology Nursing Society’s (ONS) Victoria Mock New Investigator Award.
AACN Research Grants Influence Nursing Practice
The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses announces the newest recipients of its annual research grants and invites clinicians and researchers to submit projects online by Oct. 28, 2022, for the next application cycle. AACN will award up to three $50,000 Impact Research Grants in 2023, as well as co-sponsoring the AACN-Sigma Critical Care Grant, with up to $10,000 in funding.
