The newly formed collaboration, called the Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) Predominately Undergraduate Institutions (PUI), includes Stony Brook University, Suffolk County Community College, Farmingdale State College, and Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Students Identify Starting Points for Potential COVID-19 Inhibitors
Two students working under the mentorship of Desigan Kumaran, a structural biologist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory, have helped to identify molecules that could potentially lead to new antiviral drugs for treating COVID-19. Though the students conducted their fall 2020 internships remotely, the potential of their work is firmly planted in the real world and could have lasting impact.
UTEP Awarded More than $1 Million from NSF to Design Engineering Leadership Academies
Meagan Kendall, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Education and Leadership at The University of Texas at El Paso, has been awarded the majority of a $2 million collaborative grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to design engineering leadership academies as part of an effort to enhance the quality of undergraduate STEM education at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs).
Class redesign increases student success in math
A significant redesign of two foundational mathematics courses at the University of Georgia has led to remarkable gains in student success, including an increase from 65% to 85% of students who pass precalculus.
