ACC Middle East Conference tackles new approaches in primary prevention, global burden of NCDs

The American College of Cardiology is again partnering with the Emirates Cardiac Society to host the ACC Middle East Conference 2019 together with the 10th Emirates Cardiac Society Congress on Oct. 3-5, 2019, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The two societies previously hosted the 2017 conference in Dubai, UAE.

Led by conference co-chairs Dipti Itchhaporia, MD, FACC, and Abdullah Shehab, MBChB, MMed, FACC, the conference brings together leading experts from around the region and world to discuss, share and critique the latest in cardiovascular disease prevention and care. The conference aims to critically examine evidence-based strategies, as well as contemporary best practices and clinical decision-making to reach the cardiovascular community’s common goal of improving the heart health of patients.

Speakers will cover a range of topics, including Carolyn Y. Ho, MD, medical director of the Cardiovascular Genetics Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, lecturing on the role of genetic testing in heritable cardiovascular diseases; K. Srinath Reddy, MD, DM, MSc, president of the Public Health Foundation of India and former president of the World Heart Federation, discussing the global burden of noncommunicable diseases; and ACC Middle East Conference co-chair Itchhaporia speaking on novel risk enhancers for heart disease in women.
