ACC webinar to address disparities in COVID-19 care

As part of its weekly Summer COVID-19 Education Series, the American College of Cardiology is hosting a panel session on health care disparities and COVID-19 care.

The session will be moderated by Clyde Yancy, MD, MACC, vice chair of the ACC Diversity and Inclusion Task Force. Panelists, Johanna Martinez, MD; Robert Roswell, MD; and Herman Taylor, MD, will discuss real-world experiences regarding social determinants of health, how that has impacted their own patients with COVID-19 and actionable takeaways for addressing social determinants of health among COVID-19 patients.

The webinar takes place Thursday, June 11: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. ET. A second session will run concurrently and address COVID-19 and venous thromboembolism.

The Summer COVID-19 Education Series provides the health care community with actionable insights and solutions that will address key clinical and operational concerns and challenges during the pandemic. The weekly series is free of charge and addresses current and evolving knowledge and practice gaps to help clinicians manage patients with COVID-19 and heart disease both now and into the future. Content will be available on demand after the live event.
