From the authors: “Overall, our study showed the sex-dependent regulation of [blood pressure] by collecting duct Bmal1, which aids our understanding of the connection between circadian misalignment and cardiovascular health. While Bmal1 is considered a core clock gene, the characteristic circadian pattern of [blood pressure] remained intact despite there being a lower overall [blood pressure] throughout the day.”
This study is highlighted as one of March’s “best of the best” as part of the American Physiological Society’s APSselect program.
