From the authors: “In this study, we examined the effects of several critical intracellular kinases such as cyclic-AMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA), protein kinase B (PKB)/Akt, protein kinase C (PKC), extracellular-regulated protein kinases (ERK) and AMP-activated protein kinase 27 (AMPK), known to regulate synaptic transmission, on hippocampal γ oscillations in vitro.” 

This study is highlighted as one of April’s “best of the best” as part of the American Physiological Society’s APSselect program.
