Sherry examining airport infrastructure needs

Lance Sherry, Associate Professor, Systems Engineering and Operations Research (SEOR), and Director, Air Transport Systems, SEOR, is conducting a broad assessment of aircraft and operational requirements related to airport infrastructure needs for medical emergencies, evacuations, and disaster preparedness.

Via this research, he will inform FAA policy deliberations and address specific questions related to aeromedical and emergency aircraft activity. This research will also help FAA officials better understand infrastructure needs at National Plan of Integrated Airport System (NPIAS) airports.

Sherry received $210,375 from the Federal Aviation Administration for this project. Funding began in September 2020 and will end in late August 2022.
