Highlights for journalists at ACS Spring 2021 meeting

WASHINGTON, March 12, 2021 — Journalists who register for the spring meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS) will have access to nearly 9,000 presentations on topics including agriculture and food, chemistry and the future of plastics, COVID-19 lessons learned, health and medicine, renewable energy and fuels, sustainability and more.


ACS Spring 2021

will be held online April 5-30, with live technical sessions hosted April 5-16 and on-demand and networking content continuing through April 30.


Keynote speakers

will delve into bio-based plastics to sequester carbon dioxide, biology in the fourth dimension, machine biology for infectious diseases, and other pioneering science. Cutting-edge developments on the theme of “Macromolecular Chemistry: The Second Century” also will be featured.

ACS considers requests for press credentials and complimentary registration to meetings from reporters (staff and freelance) and public information officers at government, nonprofit and educational institutions. Marketing and public relations professionals, lobbyists and scientists do not qualify as press and must register via the

. Journal managing editors, book-commissioning editors, acquisitions editors, publishers, and those who do not produce news for a publication or institution also do not qualify.
