If I flip a dime and a quarter each 50 times and get heads with the dime 23 times, but heads with the quarter 27 times, should I conclude that quarters are more likely to come up heads? No, this was probably chance, and we can even assess it with statistical tests to understand how likely this result was, in the absence of any real difference between the two.
