Ocean Medical Center Foundation Hosting Golf Outing on June 14

Brick, NJ – June 1, 2021 – Hackensack Meridian Ocean Medical Center Foundation will host a golf outing on June 14 at Manasquan River Golf Club in Brielle in support of Hackensack Meridian Ocean Medical Center’s greatest need fund, which supports innovation, technology and essential components to ensure the highest level of patient care. The golf outing will follow all CDC, state and local guidelines and is being planned in conjunction with Hackensack Meridian Health clinicians to ensure the safety of guests.

“The annual golf outing is a significant fundraiser for Ocean Medical Center,” says Jason Kreitner, MHA, FACHE, president and chief hospital executive, Ocean Medical Center. “We are thrilled to once again be able to host it, not only because it generates funding for the medical center that helps us to provide the best possible programs and services to our community, but also because it’s fun. Over the years, this outing has helped to make many things possible and we are grateful for the public’s continued support.”

Registration and breakfast will begin at 10 a.m. with an 11 a.m. shotgun start. A boxed breakfast will be provided and socially distanced lunch stations will be set on the course to enjoy throughout the day. A seated reception will follow play.

“We are incredibly excited to revive the long-standing tradition of this golf tournament and thankful for the community’s support throughout the challenges over the past 14 months,” says event chair Jason Nitche, M.D. “In order to fight the pandemic, Ocean Medical Center invested an extraordinary amount to acquire ventilators, disinfecting machines, temporary tenting and personal protective equipment (PPE) — making private support more important than ever. Additionally, we continue to have ambitious goals for the hospital.”

Over the last six years, Ocean Medical Center has undergone significant updates and expansion to keep pace with the growing demand from the community, including a new Emergency Department, a private patient room floor and a new cancer center. Later in 2021, construction will begin on the new Heart & Vascular Center, a $19.5 million project which will encompass 14,750 square-feet of new space and feature three new hybrid labs that will treat patients in need of urgent and elective cardiac and vascular services.

“Philanthropy plays an important role overall, allowing for large-scale projects like the forthcoming Heart & Vascular Center, as well as enhanced programs and services that create an added benefit for our community,”  says Matthew Lang, executive director, Ocean Medical Center Foundation. “Additionally, funds will support the most urgent and necessary needs of the hospital, which helps to ensure that all areas are the best they can be. We are grateful for everyone who participates in this important event and invite all members of the community to join us.”

The annual golf outing is sponsored by George Harms Construction Co. and Brielle Orthopedics. Individuals and foursomes can register at give.hackensackmeridianhealth.org/OMCGolf2021, by calling 201-519-2446, or emailing [email protected].
