Virtual ISPOR Europe 2020 Program and Speakers Announced

Lawrenceville, NJ, USA—October 19, 2020—ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research announced its plenary sessions and speakers for Virtual ISPOR Europe 2020. The 4-day virtual conference, themed “Improving Health: Establishing Incentives and Sharing Value,” will be held 16-19 November in European Central Time and will also include a series of preconference on-demand sessions available beginning 14 October.

The first plenary session, “’New Deal’ for Healthcare Systems—Mission Inspirational, Impossible, or Inevitable?,” is scheduled for Monday, 16 November 2020. Scientific advances in the understanding of disease biology and healthcare technologies have led to an increasing number of technological innovations. A panel of health economists, policy makers, and industry experts will address the concept of sharing the value of innovation. Panelists include:

The second plenary session, “Patient and Public Involvement in Healthcare Decision Making: Are We Maximizing Opportunities?,” is scheduled for Tuesday, 17 November 2020. This session will examine the urgent need for a more holistic and meaningful approach to citizen involvement in healthcare decision making. Experts will discuss opportunities for different thinking and explore options beyond currently practiced patient/public involvement a high level of resource allocation in healthcare. Panelists include:

This session will focus on the approval of innovative drugs with little or no randomized controlled trial (RCT) evidence. Panelists include:

In addition to the plenary sessions, Virtual ISPOR Europe 2020 will feature a wide variety of more than 40 live sessions, including spotlight sessions on regulatory collaboration as it relates to COVID-19, the credibility of real-world evidence, and methods for modeling treatment sequencing. Virtual conference sessions will be available on demand for registrants through 31 December 2020; offering more than 90 hours of programming content for attendees to view at their leisure. Additionally, a series of preconference sessions of approximately 50 hours of content, exclusively available to registered attendees, will be accessible on demand beginning 14 October 2020. The ISPOR Short Course Program is now being offered virtually with a wide variety of course topics provided to enhance knowledge and techniques in core HEOR topics as well as emerging trends in the field. Virtual courses are posted here as they become available.
