Stephen S. Fuller Institute updating Affordable Housing Master Plan

Jeannette Chapman, Director, The Stephen S. Fuller Institute, Schar School of Policy and Government, received $21,630 from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. With this funding, the Institute will update the Housing Needs Analysis for Arlington County, Virginia.

The Institute will append data tables selected by Arlington County from the 2014 Housing Needs Analysis to include the most current data available (2018) from the American Community Survey utilizing a three-year data set. The Institute will prepare summary statistics for a comprehensive set of housing and household characteristics and provide the results of this analysis to Arlington County in a Microsoft Excel format.

The Institute will also assess the affordability of the housing supply, review current housing, population and employment forecasts, and produce estimates of current and future housing needs.

The researchers will incorporate these findings into a written report and provide that report to Arlington County officials for review and editing.

Officials with the Institute will present their findings to stakeholders at two meetings.

Funding began in late May 2020 and will end in late August 2020.
