Mountainside Medical Center Announces New Leaders in the Division of Gastroenterology

MONTCLAIR, New Jersey (April 22, 2021) – Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center has announced Yong M. Kwon, M.D. as the hospital’s new division chief of gastroenterology, and Oleg Shulik, M.D. as subspecialty coordinator of gastroenterology.

Dr. Kwon received his medical degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals. Dr. Kwon completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is the author and co-author of articles and studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals including Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Surgical Endoscopy and European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Dr. Oleg Shulik received his medical degree from the University of Debrecen Medical and Health Science Center and completed his internal medicine residency at Trinitas Regional Medical Center. Dr. Shulik has completed fellowships in geriatric medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, gastroenterology at New York Medical College, and advanced gastroenterology with a focus on advanced therapeutic endoscopy at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
