UrduWhile the NICU can be a scary place, Loyola’s nurses are committed to helping families feel at home. Each year the NICU team designs and builds the costumes by hand. This year they created a festive farmer’s market complete with broccoli, a sack of potatoes and two peas in a pod.
“We look forward to making the Halloween costumes every year because we are so invested in caring for our patients and getting to know them and their families. We’re able to give them a special memory during a stressful time in their lives,” said Pooja Patel, RN, one of the nurses who helps coordinate the event. “For many of us, it’s our favorite day of the year.”
