Urdu“We’ve transformed our annual Fellows Course into a virtual program to ensure the health and safety of all our participants,” said Juan F. Granada, MD, CRF’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “CRF has always been on the leading edge of using technology to deliver exceptional education, and we’re excited to give fellows access to this comprehensive and interactive experience.”
CRF Fellows Course Connect features renowned pioneers and innovators in the field who lead a series of didactic lectures, panel discussions, and interactive training opportunities focusing on clinical case scenarios, interventional hot topics, and angiographic reviews of challenging cases. Fellows will also be able to network with faculty during fireside chats.
“Started over 25 years ago by Gregg Stone, the CRF Fellows Course has served as an important springboard for interventional trainees, and this year’s course is no different,” said Course Director Ajay J. Kirtane, MD, SM. Dr. Kirtane is Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. “We’ve created an in-depth, practical program covering major clinical issues facing today’s interventionalists with opportunities to interact with the best and brightest in the field.”
Course topics include the rationale for revascularization procedures in simple and complex lesion subsets, how to perform basic and complex angioplasty, and the appropriate use of devices such as drug-eluting stents and adjunctive devices. The program will also cover pharmacological therapies, the use of intravascular imaging/physiology, and non-coronary topics such as structural heart disease and vascular medicine/endovascular intervention.
“This year’s course will give fellows access to master operators in the field whose vast knowledge and experience will prove invaluable as they embark on their own careers,” said Course Director Sahil Parikh, MD. Dr. Parikh is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Director, Endovascular Services at the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. “The virtual format will allow for open and thoughtful discussion on a wide variety of interventional topics.”
The course is also open to practicing interventional cardiologists, clinical cardiologists, catheterization laboratory nurses, cardiovascular technicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in the performance of interventional cardiovascular procedures who may find the curriculum to be a helpful and extensive review.
