Dr. Vile is a scholar of the U.S. constitutional amending process and the U.S. Presidency, who has written and edited numerous books, essays, chapters, and reviews on this and related topics.
For his book “Presidential Winners and Losers: Words of Victory and Concession,” he researched and compiled a rich collection of speeches, statements, and related information that focus on a subject largely neglected by presidential studies: How successful and unsuccessful candidates for the highest office in the land deal with the outcome of the election.
VIle is a graduate of the College of William and Mary who earned his Ph.D. in Government from the University of Virginia.
