President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Professor Wendy Burn, will open the conference on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, kicking off 16 hours of keynotes, presentations, and discussions by a number of distinguished speakers including Professor Janet Treasure, the Director of the Eating Disorder Unit at King’s College, London, and Professor Bryn Austin, President of the Academy for Eating Disorders. Under the theme, “Art and Science of Eating Disorders: A Global Vision to Help Eating Disorder Patients and Carers,” the 2-day event will take place at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, 21 Prescot Street, London, England.

Topics to be discussed include early warning signs, obesity policy, neurocognitive impacts of eating disorders, suicidality and self-harm, the role of family and siblings, ethics, exercise, trauma, different modes of therapeutic interventions, translational research, updated prevalence research, neurobiological etiology, and the latest evidence-based treatments.
