Economic impacts of natural disasters

Researchers examined data on the impacts of natural disasters recorded by an international emergency events database between 1960 and 2015, finding evidence of mounting economic damages largely due to severe events that are extending beyond tropical regions into temperate areas of the globe, and of increasing death tolls from extreme temperature events in both poor and rich countries; the findings highlight the growing hazards posed by severe events associated with changing climate conditions.
