Terri Pickering, MD joins Glaucoma Research Foundation Board of Directors

San Francisco, CA, April 24, 2020 — Glaucoma Research Foundation, the nation’s most experienced foundation dedicated solely to curing glaucoma and restoring vision through innovative research and education, recently elected Terri Pickering, MD to its Board of Directors. 

Terri Pickering, MD is a glaucoma specialist at Glaucoma Center of San Francisco, a clinical instructor at California Pacific Medical Center and a researcher with the Glaucoma Research and Education Group in San Francisco. She received her medical degree from Harvard University and then completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of California San Francisco and her glaucoma fellowship at the USC Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles. Dr. Pickering is a patient education ambassador with Glaucoma Research Foundation and recently delivered the 2019 Daniel Scott Weston Glaucoma Research Lecture in Palo Alto, CA. She has been an EyeCare America volunteer physician since 2001.   

Dr. Pickering’s clinical interests include selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), drainage devices, and ocular imaging for glaucoma. Dr. Pickering believes that community outreach in high-risk populations is critical to stopping this blinding disease. She is a medical editor for the Gleams newsletter published by Glaucoma Research Foundation for glaucoma patients and their families.
