Rutgers Public Health Expert Available to Comment on the CDC’s New Guidelines for COVID-19 Vaccinated People

Vince Silenzio, professor in the department of urban-global public health at the Rutgers School of Public Health is available to discuss the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest guidance to Americans fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

“If you needed any more reasons to get vaccinated, today’s updated guidance from CDC should help you understand that your vaccination could also turn out to be your superpower,” he says. “The changes don’t simply reflect how likely you are to be safe around others who have also been vaccinated. They also reflect that vaccination helps make it less likely that you could unknowingly infect people who are not yet vaccinated. Basically, they reflect how well the current data suggests that your vaccination protects you and how well it helps you protect others around you.”
