July 11, 2022 – Edison, NJ – Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce its 14th Annual Miles for Minds 5K Race to support Hackensack Meridian JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, located at Hackensack Meridian JFK University Medical Center. The race will take place on Sunday, July 31 at Roosevelt Park in Edison.
Funds raised will support JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, including its world-renowned Center for Brain Injuries and life-saving programs in Stroke and Cardiac Rehabilitation. Proceeds will be used to advance patient care across its full spectrum of rehabilitation services through improved access to equipment and technology, research, team member training and facility upgrades.
“After two years of having our Annual Miles for Minds races held virtually, we are excited to be back in person this year to raise much-needed funds for JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute,” said Sheri Marino, executive director, JFK University Medical Center Foundation. “Our race has grown significantly since it began 14 years ago, and we are thrilled to see our community come together, especially our patients who have recovered from serious brain injury and stroke. This race represents the culmination of their rehabilitation and recovery, and we celebrate their incredible determination.”
Miles for Minds is a family friendly event that is fun for all ages. Whether you are looking to participate in your first 5K or you are a seasoned runner, our USA Track and Field sanctioned timed race is appropriate for all skill levels. For those interested in a lighter pace, there is also a one mile fun run, walk or roll around Roosevelt Park’s lake. Participants are encouraged to post photos on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #Miles4Minds and submit their photos on the event website.
