New York, NY – January 21, 2020 – PCR and TCT are proud to announce the creation of a new educational program: “Partners in Learning.” The first of its kind will focus on TAVI practitioners, taking place on 21-22 March 2020 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is the first ever stand-alone collaboration between TCT, PCR, and a regional core team of leading practitioners.
This educational meeting is aimed at teaching and empowering the Latin-American cardiovascular community to use the latest techniques and treatments to better care for their patients.
“TAVI is rapidly emerging in Latin America, with a pressing need for a high-quality forum for peer to peer exchange in order to provide the best possible treatment for patients,” said Bernard Prendergast, Course Director of PCR London Valves and Coordinator for Valves & Structural activities at PCR.
“We are excited to partner with PCR to deliver a highly needed practical educational platform in TAVI,” said Juan F. Granada, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. “CRF, through this new exciting partnership, is committed to providing clinicians with high quality education and cutting-edge training so that patients can benefit from the latest advances in the field.”
The two-day case-based practical program will focus on daily practice TAVI procedures in an innovative and highly interactive fashion.
- Focus on hands-on experience in pre-, peri- and post-procedural care for patients undergoing transcatheter valve interventions.
- LIVE in a box® sessions that call upon recorded LIVE demonstrations as a unique educational tool to strengthen participants’ techniques and decision-making capacities.
- Case-based discussions from Latin-America.
“We are excited about this initiative which aims to further enhance the skill level of operators in our region, helping us to meet our goal of training the next generation to provide the highest quality care to our patients,” said Jose Mangione, MD, President of SOLACI.
“With such a large population and a growing number of interventional cardiologists committed to science and excellence, SBHCI is pleased to be the host country for the first issue of Partners in Learning,” added Ricardo Alves da Costa, MD, PhD, President of the Brazilian Society of Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology.
“TCT and PCR are world renowned for bringing together global experts to teach state of the art hands-on interventional techniques to practicing physicians,” said Alexandre Abizaid, MD, PhD, Director, Interventional Cardiology Department at Dante Pazzanese Institute, Sao Paulo, Brazil. “We look forward to collaborating with them to bring exceptional education to our region.”
