Morgridge invites experts to discuss COVID-19 vaccines for kids in upcoming speaker series

The Morgridge Institute for Research will broadcast a free webinar on November 9, featuring a conversation with experts on the front lines of pediatric vaccine development and public health.

The webinar, titled “Exploring COVID-19 vaccines for kids,” is the sixth installment of the Fearless Science Speaker Series.

Speakers include:

These experts will offer an update on the vaccine clinical trials for children 5-11, where we stand on vaccines for kids under 5, and the general state of the public health effort to combat the pandemic.

“The trials demonstrate that the vaccines are safe and effective in children. The vaccine is identical to the one given to adults, just a smaller dose,” says Dr. Hartman. “Getting our children vaccinated against COVID-19 is the next important step in protecting our communities.”

The webinar will also include discussion surrounding the latest information on vaccine boosters, vaccine hesitancy, and COVID-19 treatment.

While responding to the current impacts of COVID-19 is a priority, the Morgridge Institute emphasizes the investment in long-term, innovative solutions that will help mitigate the devastating risks of novel viruses and benefit society in a rewarding way.

“Thinking about a long-term scientific goal is an important part of the culture at Morgridge,” says Chief Executive Officer Brad Schwartz.

The Morgridge Institute for Research is an independent biomedical institute. Our scientists recognize that a fundamental understanding of human biology will drive the next big advances in human health. We conduct “fearless science” in these promising frontiers.
