Manahawkin, NJ – July 28, 2020 – The annual Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation Virtual Signature Social, held on July 24, raised nearly $90,000 for the greatest needs at Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center. In lieu of the planned in-person celebration because of COVID-19, the foundation moved the event to a virtual format that was live streamed to raise funds for the medical center, helping it to enhance care for the community throughout the pandemic and beyond.
The event included updates from Hackensack Meridian Health leadership, inspirational videos and tributes to the health care heroes working to fight COVID-19 on the frontlines.
Community members who missed the live event can still view it at bit.ly/SOMCFVirtualEvent. There is no cost to view the program, however donations in support of the medical center and Signature Social can still be made at HackensackMeridianHealth.org/SOMCSocial.
“There are no words to adequately express our gratitude to the community surrounding Southern Ocean Medical Center for their tremendous outpouring of love and support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Joseph Stampe, president and chief development officer, Meridian Health Foundation, to which Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation belongs. “We hope that the worst is behind us but are focusing our attention on preparations to ensure that we are best equipped to care for the community should we experience a surge. We received many gifts to help the hospital through the peak, but much more support is still needed to help it recover, to secure essential technology and to create the programs required for the future. A gift in support of the Southern Ocean Medical Center Virtual Signature Social is just one way that the medical center can be prepared to care for you, your family and your community when care is needed.”
The annual signature social was chaired by Joe and Lori Rulli and the event sponsors were Advanced Radiology Solutions, Thomas and Deborah Dolan and the Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center medical team.
