U.S. News & World Report ranks Wichita State University online business program No. 7 in the nation

Wichita State University is tied for No. 7 nationally in Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs by U.S. News & World Report.

Wichita State’s W. Frank Barton School of Business tailors its online degrees to the adult learner. It offers customized degree plans through WSU’s Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Online majors include general business, human resource management, international business and management.

“I chose to pursue an undergraduate online degree with the Barton School of Business at WSU because I wanted a quality education that still allowed me (a mother of four) to have a flexible schedule,” said Hilary Cupery, an online general business major. “I did not want to just finish college with an expensive piece of paper. I wanted to learn and grow as an employee and as a person. The online degree program with the Barton School has taught me so much, and I have been challenged to go far beyond what I thought were my limits. As I get ready to graduate, I have full confidence that I made the right choice in college.”

Dr. Larisa Genin, dean of the W. Frank Barton School of Business, credits the ranking to the dedication shown by the faculty and staff.

“It shows that the Barton School not only provides some of the biggest opportunities in Kansas, but across the nation,” she said. “Our expanding list of digital learning opportunities, as well as the construction of our new home, Woolsey Hall, are concerted efforts to give students options for success. We will use this recognition to continue to push forward, and we look forward to climbing even higher on this list in the years to come.”

“Online courses give students the accessibility and confidence some need to complete their degrees,” said Dr. John Perry, associate dean, Academic Operations and Undergraduate Programs. “The Barton School has understood the importance of providing this flexibility for quite some time. I’m excited to be a part of the continued expansion of this offering for our students.”

Wichita State’s online programs are taught by the same faculty who teach courses on campus at the AACSB-accredited W. Frank Barton School of Business. Wichita State offers the opportunity to excel with a degree completion option or specialization from a school ranked among the Best Business Schools in the country by The Princeton Review since 2006.

“Most of my online students are adults working full time, have a family, or a lot of times both,” said Brandon McNeal, online advisor. “The most rewarding part of working with online students is helping them reach their goal of obtaining a bachelor’s degree while they are also juggling many other factors in their lives.”
