Ting Zou named 2021 recipient of the IADR Toshio Nakao Fellowship

Alexandria, Va., USA – The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) announced Ting Zou, The University of Hong Kong, SAR, China, as the 2021 recipient of the IADR Toshio Nakao Fellowship. Zou was recognized during the Opening Ceremonies of the virtual 99th General Session & Exhibition of the IADR, held in conjunction with the 50th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) and the 45th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR), on July 21-24, 2021.

Zou is currently a postdoctoral fellow in restorative dental sciences at The University of Hong Kong, SAR, China. She received a Ph.D. from The University of Hong Kong, SAR, China, a M.Sc. from the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fuzhou, China, and a B.Sc. in the College of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University, Fujian, China.

Zou’s research interests include design and modification of multifunctional hydrogels based on GelMA for tissue regeneration, caries prevention and wound healing enhancement, stem cell therapy based on tissue engineering and bio-functional smart materials and fabrication of biological function nanocomposites for eliminating biofilms and enhancing tissue regeneration.

Zou will complete the IADR Toshio Nakao Fellowship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, under IADR/AADR member Marco C. Bottino.

Awarded every two years, the purpose of this fellowship is to allow a young investigator to obtain training and experience in dental materials science at a center of excellence. The Fellowship is funded by a generous donation from GC Corporation. The Fellow will receive funding for accommodation, subsistence and travel (up to $15,000 USD).
