The American Thoracic Society Announces Rebrand

New York, NY – Sept. 1, 2021 – Opening a new chapter in a long, storied history dating back to 1905, the American Thoracic Society is pleased to announce that it has completed a major rebrand which includes a new, elevated logo design and a refreshed mission statement asserting the Society’s leadership role in driving innovation in the respiratory space.

“Over the past 116 years, the ATS has undergone a number of changes. Today, Sept. 1, marks the latest transformation of our Society,” said ATS President Lynn Schnapp, MD, ATSF. “While the new logo helps convey a modern, energetic society, the rebrand is about more than that. It is about fostering collaboration between specialists in all aspects of respiratory diseases – from research to prevention to treatment—all to improve patient health. And it will help our members take advantage of myriad opportunities to learn, network, and advance their careers.”

Moving forward ATS activities will be organized into four main pillars of respiratory health:

  • Leading Scientific Discovery
  • Transforming Patient Care
  • Impacting Global Health
  • Advancing Professional Development.

Members as well as professionals who have long engaged with the Society, whether through its transformative international conference, its year-round educational opportunities, and its outstanding journals, can continue to look to the ATS for inspiration, support, and opportunity – the opportunity to advance their careers, share their voice, and make a difference.
