Penn Nursing Receives $1 Million Grant to Support Nursing Education

The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing (Penn Nursing) has received a $1 million grant from the Bedford Falls Foundation – DAF, a donor-advised fund established by Philanthropists William (Bill) E. Conway Jr., co-founder and co-chairman of The Carlyle Group, and his wife, Joanne. The couple have given millions to support nursing education and scholarships to address the nation’s nursing workforce shortage.

A partnership between the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Ochsner Lafayette General will address the critical need for registered nurses in the Acadiana region through the creation of an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program. Ochsner Lafayette General is Acadiana’s largest non-profit regional health system.

Delgado to Open New Ochsner Center for Nursing and Allied Health, Featuring Evening and Weekend Classes

Thanks to a partnership with Ochsner Health, Delgado Community College will feature an evening and weekend track for pre-nursing and allied health, offering courses outside of regular business hours for adults who need flexibility. Classes will begin during the spring semester in the state-of-the-art Ochsner Center for Nursing and Allied Health building, slated to open on Delgado’s City Park campus in January.
