Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center has received American College of Cardiology (ACC) Transcatheter Valve Certification, a designation of excellence that recognizes demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients undergoing transcatheter valve repair and replacement procedures, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

AAPM Advances Best Practices for Patient Safety in X-Ray Imaging

Since April 2019, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine has championed a critical way to make X-ray imaging safer and more effective by discontinuing the long-standing practice of placing leaded shields over patient gonads. Today, the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements released a statement recommending the discontinuation of routine shielding of patient gonads during X-ray imaging exams and AAPM stands ready to help imaging providers, patients and caregivers to understand and adopt these new best practices – practices that will ensure safer and higher-quality X-ray exams.

Company-Investor Working Group Issues Report on Standard Practices for Virtual Shareholder Meetings

A working group of public company and investor representatives today released a comprehensive report on recommended baseline practices for virtual shareholder meetings. The report also reflects the input of a steering committee comprised of the largest virtual shareholder meeting service providers and prominent corporate governance leaders. With the COVID-19 pandemic likely to curtail many in-person shareholder meetings again in 2021, the report provides valuable guidance for companies planning to host virtual meetings next year and shareholders who want to participate more fully in those meetings.

How Hospitality Industry Should Address Discrimination

After the worldwide protests that erupted over the killing of George Floyd, it is hard for me to imagine any person, company, or institution, continuing to discount the role that racism plays in our society. People all over are demanding an end to racial discrimination that is embedded in our social systems.  In hospitality, emerging research has shined light on the perception of discrimination among industry workers, but personally, it comes as no surprise to me.
