Schulich Leader Scholarships supports two new STEM rising stars at uOttawa

At the University of Ottawa, science, technology, engineering, math, or STEM are a way of life. It represents an active research field, a concept where ideas collide, and a transformative approach to learning. It also happens to be the name of one of our most modern structures on campus where students congregate to make the future.

To help us in this bold endeavour the University is pleased to welcome two new deserving students who have been awarded a chance to study in a STEM-related field, worry-free, thanks to a generous four-year

Schulich Leader Scholarship

, valued at up to $100,000 each. They are among 100 students across Canada to receive this scholarship, one of the most coveted in the country, in 2020.

This year’s recipients are:

Angéline Lafleur from Ottawa, Ontario – now studying science at uOttawa

Jeremy Leigh from Campbellton, New Brunswick – now studying engineering at uOttawa

The Schulich Leader Scholarships annual program recognizes students across Canada who plan to study science, technology, engineering, or mathematics as undergraduates.

In addition to this large financial award, the recipients join an elite network and receive numerous other benefits.

Schulich Leader Scholarships, managed by UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, were made possible with the funding provided by Canadian business leader and philanthropist Seymour Schulich. This historic $100+ million scholarship initiative was implemented to secure the future economic competitiveness of Canada and Israel and is designed to ensure that future Canadian and Israeli leaders are among the next pioneers in global scientific research and innovation.
