Rutgers Senate Expert Available to Discuss Key Election Races

Rutgers political scientist Ross Baker is available to discuss key Senate races leading up to and following Election Day. Baker is a Senate expert and has worked in the chamber.

“What at first glance looks like a defeat for Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was actually an elaborate cover operation to protect a half dozen vulnerable Republican senators who are up for re-election in November,” said Baker. “It might also have served as a distraction from President Trump’s embarrassing revelations to Bob Woodward. Republicans in Congress are nervously eyeing the lead that Joe Biden has built up in their states and fear getting sucked under if the good ship Trump goes down.”

Baker is a former research associate at the Brookings Institution who has served as a consultant and resident scholar for Democrats in the House and Senate. He is the author of Friend and Foe in the U.S. Senate and House and Senate.

He can be reached at [email protected].
