Run For The Warriors, Orlando spotlights 10th year of support to wounded service members and their families

ASA and Hope For The Warriors® host 5K run/walk

ORLANDO, Fla. – The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) will host the Run For The Warriors,® Orlando 5K Run/Walk at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 20, at the Orange County Convention Center. The race coincides with the ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2019 annual meeting and marks ASA’s 10th consecutive year of sponsorship.

All proceeds from the Orlando race will benefit Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit that assists Veterans, service members and military families with a variety of programming including clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation, and transition services.

“For the past decade, ASA has partnered with Hope For The Warriors to honor service members and Veterans as they balance the challenges of military life with the pride that comes from having served,” said ASA President Linda J. Mason, M.D., FASA. “The ANESTHESIOLOGY annual meeting has become synonymous with the Run For The Warriors event, and we couldn’t be prouder to show our support for such a worthy cause.”

Run For The Warriors is a race series open to civilians and military members that honors the men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan and celebrates their strength and resolve. The series also provides wounded service members encouragement and the opportunity to pursue the sport of running, walking or adaptive cycling to assist in physical and emotional rehabilitation. 

The race will start and finish at the Orange County Convention Center, South Concourse bus lanes. Pre-registration is $25 and day of race is $35.
