Riverview Medical Center Foundation Welcomes New Executive Director

Red Bank, NJ – December 3, 2020 – Todd Shellenberger has joined as executive director of Hackensack Meridian Riverview Medical Center Foundation. Shellenberger fills the role vacated by Jennifer Smith, who left to head the Foundation of Morristown Medical Center as chief development officer. 

“Riverview Medical Center will benefit tremendously from Todd’s expansive development career, which spans more than 13 years,” says Joseph Stampe, president and chief development officer of the Hackensack Meridian – Meridian Health Foundation, to which Riverview Medical Center Foundation belongs. “I am so pleased that he chose to join the foundation and know that under his leadership and experience, the organization will continue to hit and exceed its fundraising goals, which ultimately, benefits Riverview Medical Center and the community.” 

In his most recent role, Shellenberger was vice president of development for Make-A-Wish America, a position he held for five years, and in which he led a national development team to grow revenue by more than 51 percent. Prior to that, Shellenberger was vice president of development at Make-A-Wish, New Jersey where he helped that chapter become a fundraising leader of the 60 national chapters.

Shellenberger’s first priority will be to help Riverview Medical Center Foundation finish the year as strongly as possible, as the organization, in conjunction with Meridian Health Foundation, looks to close out its capital fundraising campaign. Called Giving Heals, the campaign focuses on four important initiatives: strengthening oncology services, improving clinical outcomes, enhancing the patient experience and broadening clinical research and academic programs at the following Hackensack Meridian Health hospitals: Bayshore Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, Ocean Medical Center, Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, Riverview Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center.
