Alex Perkins is a professor at the University of Notre Dame specializing in infectious disease epidemiology and population biology.
Perkins and his team are currently working to estimate unobserved infections and model SARS-CoV-2 transmission in the United States based on estimates of epidemiological parameters from other countries. Preliminary results are available and a preprint of the work is forthcoming.
His expertise includes infectious disease dynamics, vector ecology, evolutionary ecology, spatial dynamics, theoretical ecology and mathematical biology.
