Mullen receives funding to help cultural heritage institutions accept micro-donations

Lincoln Mullen, Associate Professor, History and Art History, received $49,949 from Grant for the Web for a project at Mason’s Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media (RRCHNM). RRCHNM will create an open-source software module that enables cultural heritage institutions to accept micro-donations. The goal of this project is to enable these institutions to accept small amounts of funding from individual users of their content in a way that respects their core values of openness and public access. Institutions will thus be able to fundraise from the users of their websites. RRCHNM will also use this module to enable its own passive revenue stream.

Funding for this project began in October 2020 and will end in April 2021.
