MERCY MEDICAL CENTER’S DRS. PAUL THULUVATH AND SERGEY KANTSEVOY ACCLAIMED AS AMONG “TOP 2% OF WORLD’S SCIENTISTS”

(Baltimore, MD) — In a recent issue of PLOS Biology, a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering all aspects of biology, a Stanford scientist ranked and published the top 2% of scientists (~150,000) from all fields of science based on their publication records, impact factor of the journal and the citation rates by other prominent investigators. Mercy’s Sergey V. Kantsevoy, M.D (top 0.5% in the world) and Paul J. Thuluvath, M.D (top 0.15% in the world) of The Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease (IDHLD) were noted (and ranked very high) among this 2% of all world scientists from all disciplines of science. 

Dr. Kantsevoy is Director of The Center for Therapeutic Endoscopy, part of the IDHLD. A specialist and regional authority in interventional endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound, he is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Kantsevoy is a seasoned lecturer and has been invited to medical conferences in China, Germany, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong and the United States. He is also a well published author and has produced decades of peer-reviewed scientific articles for such publications as:

Paul J. Thuluvath, M.D., is the Medical Director of The Institute for Digestive Health & Liver Disease at the Mercy Medical Center, and  the Director of the University of Maryland Advanced Hepatology Network. He is an authority on liver and biliary diseases and has published more than 280 peer reviewed papers, 30 book chapters and edited six textbooks in the field of gastroenterology and liver diseases. He had served on the editorial board of numerous journals including Hepatology, Liver Transplant, JCEH and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Thuluvath has a specialized research interest in liver transplantation outcomes.

Dr. Thuluvath is a frequent speaker and lecturer at national and international meetings on issues in liver and biliary diseases and has addressed medical groups in Asia, Europe, North and South America. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology and American Association for Study of Liver Diseases.
