Lowell H. Steen, Jr., MD, Named Chief of Cardiology at Loyola Medicine

Maywood, IL – Loyola Medicine has announced the appointment of cardiologist Lowell H. Steen, Jr., MD, to the role of chief of cardiology. Loyola Medicine includes Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and MacNeal Hospital. Dr. Steen completed his general and interventional cardiology training at Loyola University Medical Center and has served as an interventional cardiology attending physician at Loyola for over 23 years. Since 2008, he has led the interventional cardiology fellowship as its program director and trained some of the most talented interventional cardiologists in the country. He is a professor of medicine for Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and has been recognized for scholarly activity in his field. “In addition to treating patients in one of Loyola’s largest clinical practices, Dr. Steen’s talent and dedication have resulted in exceptional clinical outcomes for Loyola patients,” said Richard K. Freeman, MD, MBA, FACS, Loyola Medicine’s executive vice president and regional chief clinical officer.
