Learning Goes Global on Darden Worldwide Courses

By Jay Hodgkins

University of Virginia Darden School of Business students this spring traveled to more than a dozen countries on Darden Worldwide global courses, getting face-to-face with unique business and cultural climates. Watch highlights from their global experiences in the feature video above.

The courses allow students to experience a country’s business practices and cultures firsthand, or even dive deeply into a business topic that is enhanced and best understood in a particular global setting — for example an exploration of leadership in Normandy, France, in the context of World War II.

During the 2018–19 academic year, Darden full-time and Executive MBA students participated in global immersions, global topics courses, consulting projects and exchange programs offered across 50-plus locations in 25 countries. By May, 85 percent of the full-time MBA graduating Class of 2019 participated in a global course during their degree at Darden.

Moving forward, 100 percent of full-time MBA students will have the opportunity to attend a global course with the cost of the course fee covered, thanks to the Batten Foundation Darden Worldwide Scholarship.

Watch the video below to learn more about how the Batten Foundation Darden Worldwide Scholarship is powering Darden students to become responsible leaders with a global perspective.
