Jajodia and Albanese receive funding for project on cyber knowledge management

Sushil Jajodia, Director, Center for Secure Information Systems (CSIS), and Massimiliano Albanese, Associate Director, CSIS/Associate Professor, Information Sciences and Technology, are supporting the project: “Cyber Knowledge Management with Secure Information Transfer for Weapons Systems (CKURITY) Phase II” by performing several tasks.

First, they are providing the Texas-based engineering and systems analysis, consulting, and systems/software development company Knowledge Based Systems, Inc., (KBSI) with subject matter expertise on methods, techniques, application, and design for the Phase II CKURITY application system.

They are also providing KBSI with mechanisms and analysis of multi-level security (MLS) and cross-domain solutions (CDS) relating to the Phase II CKURITY application system.

Additionally, they are reviewing and providing support for defense in-depth security evaluation of the Phase II CKURITY system and evaluating metrics for techniques and applications in terms of confidentiality, integrity, and availability properties of cyber information from sender(s) to receiver(s).

They are also providing verification and validation support for KBSI’s implementation of the Phase II CKURITY application system, supporting technical interchange meetings with stakeholders, and supporting report preparation and customer briefings.

The researchers received $225,000 from the U.S. Air Force for this work. Funding began in November 2020 and will end in late December 2022.
