ISPOR Announces Its Strategic Plan Update 2024

Lawrenceville, NJ, USA—November 4, 2019—ISPOR—the professional society for health economics and outcomes research—announced today its Strategic Plan Update 2024. The announcement was made at this morning’s opening plenary session of ISPOR Europe 2019.

ISPOR’s Strategic Plan Update 2024 builds on its previous strategic plan. The Society’s mission, vision, and strategic plan pillars remain unchanged as they continue to be a good representation of its aims and purpose. Strategic pillar descriptions, objectives, and tactics were updated to emphasize areas of leadership, consensus shaping, education, and communication. The Strategic Plan Update was developed in concert with the Strategic Planning Work Group and Board of Directors.

The 4 strategic pillars for the Society continue to include:

• Scientific and research excellence
• Member engagement
• Education and training
• Communication and collaboration

As noted, ISPOR’s mission remains: To promote health economics and outcomes research excellence to improve decision making for health globally.

As part of the development of its Strategic Plan Update, the Society tapped the experiences of a large group of members representing many stakeholder segments and geographic regions. In addition to the development of this plan, various subgroups were assembled to inform ISPOR’s views on the future of HEOR, to clarify ISPOR’s value proposition to each stakeholder segment, and to recommend strategies to advance the role of HEOR in decision making for health. ISPOR describes the future of HEOR in a new white paper, “HEOR’s and ISPOR’s Impact on Healthcare Systems and the Multistakeholder Community.”
