ISE — Ongoing support for the scientific research community in the global effort to contain COVID-19

The current COVID-19 pandemic is having a huge impact on people across the globe and in these unprecedented times we consider it more important than ever that we continue to support the publication of relevant and timely research.

The ISE team are committed to eliminating the communication barriers in academic publishing so that research can be shared quickly and accurately. We therefore continue to do our utmost to support the research community by the important updates made to our business processes in March 2020. These are extraordinary times, and our absolute priority is to ensure our customers can continue to avail of our services to support their important research:

  • We have established payment processes to enable authors to pay for our publishing services later when their payment systems resume operations.

  • ISE has been editing COVID-19 research papers at no charge.

Over the past two months, ISE has edited over 500 COVID-19 papers for free. Many of these papers support the sense that researchers from diverse fields are redirecting their focus to help fight the pandemic. Social and behavioural science researchers are providing valuable information to help individuals, communities, and leaders make the best decisions on dealing with the outbreak and its consequences. Studies explore everything from the virus’s implications for mental health to the role of technology in helping children stay connected. It is clear that the biggest issues facing society today cannot be solved by one discipline alone and that much more can be understood by working together in the global effort to contain COVID-19.
