Researchers report the development of a one-step process for the low-cost conversion of ethanol into mixed hydrocarbons that could be blended with gasoline or jet fuel; the process reduces costs of ethanol conversion 12-fold and provides an opportunity to direct current and future biofuels production toward applications for which they are suited to achieve climate stabilization, according to the authors.
