Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Unveils New Master of Health Administration (MHA) Degree

(NEW YORK –September TK, 2019)  –  The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has begun offering a Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree. Applications for the new MHA program are now open for enrollment starting in January, March, or September, 2020.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, one of the leading medical schools in the nation, is known for its capacity to seamlessly integrate its students into the health care system. Situated in the midst of a thriving academic medical and research center, the school is also in one of the world’s most diverse cities, serving a uniquely complex patient population.

The new MHA program leverages these assets and the deep expertise of its leading executives to prepare the next generation of health care administrators who will become leaders in a landscape shaped by competing and complex political, legal, medical, and financial forces.

Students will also have the opportunity to complete internships and fellowships in the Mount Sinai Health System, earn additional certifications in Lean management, and connect with the system’s talent recruitment office.

Details about the MHA curriculum are available online. The curriculum, designed for completion within 24 months or less, will engage students in a thoughtful exploration of the following areas:

• Environments, processes, and structures of health care systems
• Evidence-based frameworks, management, and value-creation processes
• Organizational tools for effective and efficient management
• Trends, experimentation, and emerging strategic innovations in the health care landscape
