UrduHackensack University Medical Center’s MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center Receives 8th Education Recognition from the American Diabetes Association
The MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children provides adult and pediatric patients with the professional, personalized support and up-to-date services they need to effectively self-manage their diabetes, including classes, support groups, and individual consultations.
“The education and supportive services provided by the MOLLY Center’s expert staff play a critical role in improving the health and quality of life for New Jersey residents who are living with diabetes,” said Mark D. Sparta, FACHE, president and chief hospital executive of Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Center and executive vice president of Population Health for Hackensack Meridian Health. “This ADA recognition underscores Hackensack University Medical Center’s commitment to improving public health and well-being by offering outstanding diabetes care in our community.”
“The MOLLY Center gives adults and children the evidence-based tools they need to manage their diabetes, helping them to lower their risk of related complications and live longer, healthier lives,” said Dianne Aroh, MS, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, executive vice president and chief clinical and patient care officer of Hackensack University Medical Center. “ADA certification means that our patients receive the most complete, most up-to-date diabetes information and support from highly qualified providers.”
“This certification is an affirmation that the services provided at the MOLLY Center meet the national standards for diabetes care,” said Colette Knight, M.D., chair of the Diabetes Institutes at Hackensack University Medical Center. “Our team uses the latest research to develop comprehensive management plans that help each of our patients meet their unique diabetes and health goals.
Participation in the ADA’s Education Recognition Certificate program is voluntary. By achieving ADA DSMES recognition status, the MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children has demonstrated that it offers a full range of educational programs that meet or exceed ADA standards and are delivered by a staff of knowledgeable health professionals who can provide patients with comprehensive information about diabetes management.
“We are proud of our most recent ADA recognition and are honored to provide our patients with comprehensive education and a lifetime of ongoing diabetes support,” said Dionne Dixon, PhD, administrative director of the Diabetes Program at the MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children.
The MOLLY Center’s diabetes self-management programs and educational services are delivered by a team that includes certified diabetes educators who are registered nurses and registered dieticians, advanced practice nurses specializing in diabetes management, and a licensed clinical social worker. The MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children staff also work closely with board-certified physicians and endocrinologists to provide patients with optimal diabetes care.
“The MOLLY Center offers a full range of evidence-based diabetes services, including inpatient and outpatient diabetes care, wellness programs, research studies, and diabetes education for adults, children, and families,” said Toni Isabella, RN, CDE, manager of the Diabetes Program at the MOLLY Diabetes Education/Management Center for Adults and Children. “Our ADA recognition shows our patients that we are fully prepared to provide them with a better understanding of diabetes — as well as the information, skills, and tools they need to manage it and live life to the fullest.”
